Farm and Ranch

John McNair has a wealth of experience in farm and ranch transactions. John has worked in the renewable energy field for years spearheading land acquisitions for several commercial wind generation projects. A sixth generation Texas rancher, John has a deep appreciation for land and the intricacies of land management. The McNair Ranch (John’s other job) is located just east of Concan Texas in northeastern Uvalde County in the heart of the Texas Hill Country. The ranch, historically an angora goat operation, received the Family Land Heritage Award from the Texas Department of Agriculture for over 100 years of continuous operation in the same family. John is in the process of diversifying the ranch into commercial olive production, in addition to goats and cattle. In 2012 the McNair Ranch and many neighbors sold a conservation easement to the City of San Antonio, forever protecting the land from future development over the sensitive Edwards Aquifer rechage zone. Today the McNair Ranch is located in the middle of the largest privately-held contiguous protected land area in the State of Texas.
