Despite Hurricane Harvey, DFW housing starts reach highest level in a decade

Homebuilders have reached new heights during this real estate cycle, with the most home starts in Dallas-Fort Worth in the last decade. The start rate sits at 32,234 homes for the last 12 months.

This new record shows North Texas builders haven’t been as affected as initially thought by Hurricane Harvey, said Ted Wilson, principal of Dallas-based Residential Strategies.
